ANNOTATION TO THE PROVISIONAL AGENDA

Item 1 Adoption of the Agenda (Doc. Ref. CX/FBT 03/1): In accordance with Rule V.1 of the Rules of Procedure, the first item on the Provisional Agenda shall be the adoption of the Agenda.

Item 2 Matters referred to the Task Force by Other Codex Committees (Doc. Ref. CX/FBT 03/2): The item includes matters related to the Task Force arising from sessions of other Codex Committees including the Executive Committee.

Item 3 Matters of Interest from Other International Organizations with respect to the Evaluation of the Safety and Nutrition Aspects of Foods Derived from Biotechnology (Doc. Ref. CX/FBT 03/3): The Task Force is invited to take note of the results of work done and/or being done by other relevant international fora and organizations in the field of the evaluation of the safety and nutrition aspects of foods derived from biotechnology, including those works done by FAO, WHO, UNEP/CBD and OECD.

Item 4 Consideration of Draft Guideline for the Conduct of Food Safety Assessment of Foods Produced Using Recombinant-DNA Microorganisms at Step 7 (Doc.Ref. CL 2002/40-FBT(ALINORM 03/34A Appendix V)): The Task Force is invited to consider at Step 7 the Draft Guideline for the Conduct of Food Safety Assessment of Foods Produced Using Recombinant-DNA Microorganisms as amended by the Third Session of the Task Force. Comments at Step 6 in reply to CL 2002/40-FBT are presented in the document CX/FBT 03/4.

Item 5 Open Discussion on Traceability: The Task Force is invited to discuss on Traceability.

Item 6 Other Business: The Task Force will discuss issues raised under Item 1.

Item 7 Adoption of the Report: In accordance with Rule VIII of the Rules of Procedure, the Task Force shall adopt the report of its Fourth Session based on a draft provided by the Secretariat.
