NOTES ON THE PROVISIONAL AGENDA

Item 1- Adoption of the Agenda (CX/AF 04/5/1):  In accordance with Rule V.1 of the Rules of Procedure, the first item on the Provisional Agenda shall be the adoption of the Agenda. The Committee will be invited to adopt the Provisional Agenda as the Agenda for the Session.

Item 2 (a) - Matters Referred and/or of Interest to the Task Force from the Codex Alimentarius Commission and Other Codex Committees (CX/AF 04/5/2): The document is an information paper prepared by the Codex Secretariat concerning matters referred and/or of interest from the Codex Alimentarius Commission and other Codex Committees.

Item 2 (b) - Report on FAO, WHO and OIE activities (CX/AF 04/5/3): The document is an information paper prepared by FAO, WHO and OIE on activities relevant to the work of the Task Force.

Item 3 – Consideration on definition of "feed additives" and paragraphs 11, 12 and 13 of the draft Code of Practice on Good Animal Feeding (CL 2003/22-AF and CX/AF 04/5/4): The 26th Session of the Codex Alimentarius Commission Commission (30 June - 7 July 2003) adopted the proposed draft Code on Good Animal Feeding at Step 5 and advanced the text to Step 8 (with the omission of Steps 6 and 7), with the exception of the definition of "feed additives" and paragraphs 11, 12 and 13 that were advanced to Step 6 only for further consideration by an additional session of the ad hoc Task Force on Animal Feeding. The Commission agreed that the Task Force would not consider any other issues. The text that had been advanced to Step 8 was held at that Step by the Commission pending finalization of the outstanding issues (ALINORM 03/41, para. 41 and Appendix VI).  Comments submitted at Step 6 in response to CL 2003/22-AF are summarized in working paper CX/AF 04/5/4.

Item 4 - Other Business:  The Task Force will discuss issues raised under Item 1.

Item 5 - Adoption of the Report: In accordance with Rule VIII of the Rules of Procedure, the Task Force shall adopt the report of its 5th Session based on a draft provided by the Secretariat.
