NOTES ON THE PROVISIONAL AGENDA
for the Third Session of the Ad-Hoc Intergovernmental Codex Task Force on Animal Feeding

Item 1- Adoption of the Agenda (CX/AF 02/1) :
In accordance with Rule V.1 of the Rules of Procedure, the first item on the Provisional Agenda shall be the adoption of the Agenda. The Committee will be invited to adopt the Provisional Agenda as the Agenda for the Session.
Item 2 (a) - Matters Referred to the Task Force from the Codex Alimentarius Commission and Other Codex Committees (CX/AF 02/2):
The document is an information paper prepared by the Codex Secretariat concerning matters referred and/or of interest from the 24th Session of the Codex Alimentarius Commission and other Codex Committees.
Item 2 (b) - Report on FAO, WHO and OIE activities (CX/AF 02/3):
As at its 1st session, the Task Force will be presented with a report on the relevant activities of the FAO, WHO and OIE.
Item 3 - Additional information on lists established by different governments to control the use of prohibited and undesirable substances in animal feedingstuffs or other approaches (CX/AF 02/4):
The document is an information paper prepared by the Danish Secretariat which collates comments received in response to CL 2001/8 AF and information contained in CRDs 5 and 9 of 2nd Session of the Task Force. The paper provides additional information to those included in document CX/AF 01/4, discussed at the 2nd meeting of the Task Force.
Item 4 - Information paper on Establishment of Codex maximum levels and residues limits for feedingstuffs and foods (CX/AF 02/5):
The document is an information paper prepared by the Codex Secretariat in response to the request of the 2nd Session of the Task Force to prepare a comprehensive information on ongoing and completed work in the other Codex Committees concerning the establishment of maximum levels and residue limits for feeding stuffs and foods in order to prioritize work towards the establishment of limits by these committees for such substances in feeding stuffs if necessary
Item 5 (a) - Consideration at Step 4 of the Revised Proposed Draft Code of Practice on Good Animal Feeding (excluding Section 6) (CL 2001/36-AF and CX/AF 02/6):
At its 2nd session, held in Copenhagen in March 2001, the Task Force agreed that a Drafting Group prepare a redraft (with the exception of Section 6) based on Task Force discussions and agreements and written comments submitted at the 2nd Session. The revised Draft Code has been returned to Step 3 and circulated in October 2001 through CL 2001/36-AF to governments and interested organisations. Comments in response to CL 2001/36 AF have been collected in working paper referenced as CX/AF 02/6.
Item 5 (b) - Consideration at Step 4 of Section 6 "On-Farm Production and Use of Feedingstuffs" of the Revised Draft Proposed Code of Practice on Good Animal Feeding (CL 2001/37-AF and CX/AF 02/7)
At its 2nd session the Task Force agreed that a Drafting Group would fully develop Section 6 of the Code on "On-Farm Producing, Sale and Uses of Feeding Stuffs" for circulation, comments and further consideration at its next session prior to its incorporation in the draft Code. Section 6 has been circulated in November 2001 through CL 2001/37-AF to governments and interested organisations. Comments in response to CL 2001/37-AF have been collected in working paper referenced as CX/AF 02/7.
Item 6 Other Business and Future Work:
In accordance with Rule V.5 of the Rules of Procedure, any Member of the Commission may propose the inclusion of specific items of an urgent matter.
Item 7 Date and Place of Next Session :
The Task Force will be advised of the tentative dates of the next session.
Item 8 Adoption of the Report:
In accordance with Rule VIII of the Rules of Procedure, the Task Force shall adopt the report of its 3rd Session based on a draft provided by the Secretariat.
